Dembow is taking over the world — and Chosen Few is meeting the moment with their 10th compilation album Chosen Few Dembow.
The new project will feature music from more than 30 artists, tapping into Latin music genres like dembow, reggaeton, and Latin trap. Dominican rapper Nino Freestyle will be featured on Chosen Few Dembow, along with El Mayor Clásico, Rochy RD, La Insuperable, La Perversa, Ángel Dior, Tivi Gunz, and Chimbala, and more artists.
To kick lead off the album, which drops Friday February 27 (the Dominican Republic’s day of independence), high-energy “Domi” is already available on streaming platforms. The dembow-meets-reggeaton track features rapid-fire verses from Nino Freestyle, Shelow Shaq, and Jezzy. In the Carnival-inspired visual, producer and mastermind behind Chosen Few compilations, Boy Wonder, makes an appearance.
“The album traces dembow’s evolution from the barrios and sound systems of the Dominican Republic to its emergence as a formidable force within the international urban music landscape — bridging island roots with diasporic influence and solidifying its role in shaping contemporary global sound,” a statement from Chosen Few Entertainment reads.
The new album mark’s the label’s first compilation project in years, after 2023’s Chosen Few: New Generation, which featured music from rising artists like Jon Z, Papi Wilo, and more. Since the first Chosen Few in 2003 highlighted reggaeton’s rising underground sounds, Boy Wonder’s compilation albums have become a pivotal force in Latin music. 2006’s Chosen Few: El Documental featured reggaeton architects from Hector “El Father” and Wisin & Yandel to Arcángel .
