US President Donald Trump will visit the United Kingdom in September and not Islamabad, as reported by Pakistani media.
King Charles will host Trump and First Lady Melania Trump for an “unprecedented” second state visit at Windsor Castle for September 17-19. The usual venue for state visits, Buckingham Palace, is undergoing significant renovations this year.
A section of Pakistani media, including Sama TV, peddled fake news that Trump would visit Islamabad on 18 September.
The last US president to visit Pakistan was President George W. Bush, who made a historic trip to Islamabad in 2006. Since then, no US President has visited Pakistan, known for promoting and sponsoring terrorism.
Last month, Trump hosted Pakistan’s Army Chief Asim Munir in the White House.
