Reports point out that the Trump Mobile website has removed all explicit ‘Made in the USA’ language, and display size details have been revised from ‘6.78 inch’ to ‘6.25 inch’

The Trump Organization’s recent foray into the mobile phone market with Trump Mobile and its flagship T1 Phone 8002 (gold version) has quickly come under intense scrutiny due to significant and quiet revisions on its official website.

Initially, the T1 Phone 8002 was marketed as “proudly designed and built in the United States”, aiming to Draw a patriotic consumer base in line with the “America First” manufacturing rhetoric. However, in recent days, industry analysts and media outlets have raised doubts about the feasibility of producing a modern smartphone entirely within the US, given the globalised supply chains and the concentration of component manufacturing in Asia. And now, as reported by The Verge, the Trump Mobile website has removed all explicit “Made in the USA” language. It now employs more ambiguous phrases like “American-proud design”, stating the device is “brought to life right here in the USA”, and that “American hands are behind every device”.

Despite these changes, Trump Mobile continues to assert that “T1 phones are proudly being made in America”, dismissing any contrary speculation as “simply inaccurate”.

Beyond the disputed manufacturing claims, several key technical specifications for the T1 Phone have also been quietly altered on the Trump Mobile website. The phone was originally advertised with a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen, a detail that has now been revised to a smaller 6.25-inch display. Additionally, the website initially listed the phone as having 12GB of RAM, a crucial performance indicator for smartphones, but this specification has now been entirely removed from the product page.

Such drastic changes to advertised specifications after a product’s announcement are uncommon in the tech industry and have fueled further questions regarding the transparency and final design of the T1 Phone 8002.

The phone, priced at $499 with a $100 deposit required for pre-orders, also saw its delivery timeline shift from an initial September target to a more vague “later this year”.
